NOTES ON NEW FEATURES ADDED FOR HUBBLE 1.20 and latter
HUBBLE ver. 1.20 and latter add another mode of operation,
namely [DOCUMENT BASED PROCESSING], in addition to
original [IMAGE BASED PROCESSING] mode.
With [DOCUMENT BASED PROCESSING] mode, users can
also do desktop publishing without exiting from HUBBLE.
Switch to [DOCUMENT BASED PROCESSING] mode from
[Option Menu], then load a sample HUBBLE document file
*HUBBLE.PUB* to practice on how to use this new mode.
For detail, see HUBBLE online help. Files *NEWINFO.TXT*
and *TUTORIAL.TXT" contain some info and tutorial.
NOTES ON INSTALLATION
A. TO INSTALL FROM HARDDISK
1. Copy every files to a harddisk directory, e.g. C:\TEMP
2. Decompress HUBBLE.ZIP (pkunzip hubble)
(If it expand to two ZIP files, HUBBLE1.ZIP and HUBBLE2.ZIP,
Then decompress HUBBLE1.ZIP and HUBBLE2.ZIP using
pkunzip hubble? OR pkunzip *
3. Install the program.
3.1 From Windows program manager, open file menu (Alt+F)
and choose "RUN".
3.2 Type C:\TEMP\INSTALL [-s] and follow the instruction.
B. TO INSTALL FROM FLOPPY DISK (MAKE FLOOPY INSTALLATION DISKETTES)
B1. If your copy of HUBBLE come with two distribution diskettes.
1. Insert diskette number 1 in drive A: (or B:)
2. From Windows program manager, open file menu (Alt+F)
and choose "RUN"
3. Type A:\INSTALL (or B:\INSTALL) and follow the instruction.
B2. If your copy of HUBBLE is obtained from BBS or shareware vendor,
it will consists of one or two ZIP compressed files (HUBBLE?.ZIP)
1. Build installation diskettes from 2 ZIP files
1.1 Decompress HUBBLE.ZIP which should be expanded to
HUBBLE1.ZIP and HUBBLE2.ZIP (pkunzip hubble)
1.2. Decompress (Expand) HUBBLE1.ZIP to a temporary directory
(pkunzip hubble1), then copy all (decompressed) files to
a high density diskette and label it as
Disk # 1:Install and Program Disk.
1.3. Decompress (Expand) HUBBLE2.ZIP to a temporary directory
(pkunzip hubble2), then copy all (decompressed) files to
a high density diskette and label it as
Disk # 2:Samples and Data Disk
2. Build installation diskettes from one ZIP file.
2.1 Decompress HUBBLE.ZIP on a harddisk directory
2.2 Run "TOFLOPPY A" or "TOFLOPPY B"
3. Install HUBBLE as outlined in B1
C. PROBLEM WITH INSTALLATION
If for any reason you can't install HUBBLE, such as some installation
files are corrupted, etc. Then follow the following steps:
1. Create an empty subdirectory, such as C:\HUBBLE and go to that
subdirectory. e.g.
C: <Enter>
CD \ <Enter>
MD HUBBLE <Enter>
CD HUBBLE <Enter>
2. Unpack (UnZIP) every file to HUBBLE subdirectory, e.g.
pkunzip d:\path\hubble? OR pkunzip d:\path\*
3. Expand hubble.ex_ ==> hubble.exe using "Expand" program
come with Windows 3.x
expand -r hubble.ex_ .
4. If you also want to acquire image using TWAIN compatible
scanners/devices, copy the following files:
*** please check files contents before copying ***
4.1 all DLL files *.DLL to Windows and System subdirectory.
e.g. C:\WINDOWS and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
4.2 All *.ds files to TWAIN subdirectory of the Windows directory,
e.g. C:\WINDOWS\TWAIN. You may have to go to C:\WINDOWS to
create TWAIN subdirectory.
4.3 You may have to contact your Scanners/Devices manufacturer to
get the latest driver for TWAIN compatible devices.
NOTES ON CORRUPTED FILES OR DEFECTIVE DISKETTES
If for any reason, any of your HUBBLE files is corrupted or
diskette received is defective, please contact HUBBLE SOFTWARE COMPANY

NOTES: To install HUBBLE on OS/2
a.) If HUBBLE is already installed on Windows:
At OS/2 command prompt, type MIGRATE and follow
the instruction to migrate HUBBLE to OS/2.
b.) If HUBBLE is NOT already installed on Windows:
(OS/2 is the only system)
Run FULL SCREEN WINDOWS from OS/2, and install HUBBLE
as you would install on Windows. After that, at OS/2
command prompt, type MIGRATE and follow the instruction
to migrate HUBBLE to OS/2 desktop.
